We love our nieces to pieces!

Our nieces, Bethany and Kelsie, came to stay with us last week for a few days. We did our best to entertain two teenagers! Doug took them to Six Flags one day.

We went to Red Rocks the next day. Red Rocks is a natural amphitheatre just west of Denver. The acoustics are amazing and alot of musicians love to play there. Although we didn't see a concert, we walked the stairs and took in the beautiful scenery.

From this picture, you can see why it is named "Red Rocks".

We also took in a Colorado Rockies baseball game. The Rockies won and the weather was perfect! We look forward to next summer when they come to visit us again!

One More Picture

Of the baby's room...I finished sanding and painting this dresser in the past week and it was the final piece of furniture to put in the baby's room. It was an old dresser that Doug's Grandpa Kroetch had made years ago. It will also serve as our changing table.

Thanks Mom!

I love it when my mom comes to visit. She was here all last week and we were able to do alot of projects around the house - things I wanted to get done before the baby comes. We bought a crib and with Doug's help, (okay so Doug did it all) we got it all set up and ready for the baby. I made the bedding - crib bumpers, crib skirt, quilt, and the curtain in the room. Seeing a crib in the room when I walk by makes it seem so "real"! We also painted the popcorn ceiling in the baby's room after I had patched and repaired several holes in it. It was quite the chore and I was very glad to have mom's help.

We had time to paint our spare bedroom too. I picked a sage green for this room and the light color, although it looks white, is a lighter version of the darker sage. Mom brought us the dresser in the picture. It was my dad's when he was a little kid. I love the way this room turned out too!

We took some time out from all of our hard work for a BBQ and fireworks on the 4th of July.

And for Kaylynn's birthday on the 5th. She had a princess cake and had a great day in the park swimming and playing with her friends. She turned 4 years old. For more pictures check out The Yestertime Blog.

Time for a Shower

My best friend, Paula, and Doug's co-worker, Jennie threw us a baby shower at the end of June. Here I am with our two kind hostesses.
We had lots of good friends and family there. This is my boss, Linda, with Paula.
My niece, Kaylynn, helped us open the gifts. Thanks to everyone - we are now set for this baby to arrive!

And one side shot of me at 30 weeks - almost 7 months!
